Project Consultant (ArgOS)

The Platform group is involved in developing a version of ArgOS for use in the UK/EMEA markets. It is also evaluating and identifying a programme to further develop Game Services for the EMEA retail market.

This role requires a talented individual with strong leadership qualities who has first-hand experience of both ArgOS development and Game Services. The individual is expected to assess the knowledge in the current Platform team and, working with the Technical Director and his senior management team, to guide and manage the development programme such that the Platform team can deliver both objectives.

The candidate must be experienced with all aspects of software development used by the Company and have the talent to communicate effectively at all levels of the Company as to how best that technology can be used.

The candidate must also be comfortable with working within a larger parent Group based in the USA/India and liaising with other senior technical resources within the Group so that the Company is well represented.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify the knowledge gaps on both ArgOS and Game Services in the current Platform team.
  • Work with the Technical Director and his senior management team to fill in those knowledge gaps and help the solutions architects to come up with detailed working designs for both products.
  • Ensure the Platform Group establish the required standards and specifications for software for the Company’s products including costs, test procedures etc.
  • Contribute as part of the Platform Group Senior Management Team and take responsibility for parts of the Company’s strategy as directed by the Departmental head.
  • On behalf of the UK Platform team, Liaise where appropriate with the required resources both in SG USA and SG India.
  • Ensure the Company’s Operations are supported technically and take responsibility for identifying cause and resolving problems in operations when required.
  • Support the Departmental head with regular updates and reports as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • BSc or BEng in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven experience as a lead software developer in a similar industry.  
  • Familiar with all aspects of modern software development.
  • Knowledge of pc OS, WIN, LINUX, BIOS, drivers etc.
  • First-hand experience of ArgOS and Game Services.
  • Knowledge of budgets and reporting on spends etc.
  • Excellent communication and cross-team coordination skills. Solid oral, written, and presentation as well as strong interpersonal skills are required.
